45 Science

Gloria was one of Laura’s friends sitting next to her on the wooden bench in the rooftop garden.

“I believe in science”, she said. “Could you tell us more about that?”, I asked.

Was it the scientific method, the facts created through science?

Was it a specific scientific realm?

“I believe in results and knowledge created. I work in the medical field, in drug approval, more specifically. I believe in empirical results. You can explain the majority of human life. I also believe in imaging techniques, MRT, for example, and in plausible indications, circumstantial evidence.”

Gloria’s smallest plays with this belief – a little circumstantial evidence in her hands with beautiful red fingernails. She had a classical elegance to her, and I found it to complement the scientific view on life very well: Finding structure and order, ordered beauty, in daily life.
