“When we look at the big picture, where our world is heading, it looks dire.
Very, very dark. Wars. Wars over water, over land. Migration. Conflict. I do not believe in a bright future for us as humanity at large", Lou said.
"But I do believe in small moments of happiness that the individual person experiences every now and then.”
While we were talking, our fingers were playing with gilded aluminium foil that we had pulled from the neck of beer bottles. Lou was forming a flower bouquet out of hers. “I made a bouquet!”, she exclaimed, and her face lit up. One of her dreams is to open up a small flower shop –
Lou’s smallest is destroyed. It is a dark hole; only a few threads still holding the frame together. But in it, we see individual bright spots, glimmers, small, happy moments. And – a flower.
