"I am very non-religious, but I would say, my belief in a stronger power would have to come from my creativity. So I place Art as my God, as weird as that sounds", Jon said.
"Also, I don’t really believe in a God as a physical man or woman or animal, but I think that God is like a chemical reaction in a more scientific kind of way, atoms colliding with atoms, and things being built and evolving.”
Jon’s smallest is testimony of this process. I was inspired by Jon’s style, and realised that his art pretty much shows atoms colliding with atoms,
things being built and evolving.
Especially this computer-rendered house or something… it is a curious mix of “reality” and “atoms”, where those are actually one and the same, aren’t they?
But it is more about the process, and if we were able to extract this painting just for a section from reality, it could stand as a metaphor for this – rather than being, like anything else, an expression of this inevitable process.
