“What do you believe in?”, I asked Julien.
“God”, he said.
I asked him what God meant to him.
“I believe that there is an energy permeating and encompassing everything; an energy that is tangible everywhere – if you let it in. It is always present.”
He clung his hands onto the wooden table next to which we we standing.
“Here, and here” – he pointed around. "You can feel it in this table, everywhere. Now and again, I engage in active prayer. It is about feeling this energy:
You feel that you are connected with the surroundings, that you are at the right place at the right time. So, ‘go with the flow’ ”, he smiled.
“Is there a particular moment in your life when you felt this the most thus far?”, I asked. “Yes. When I was a child. My family and me went to Glastonbury in England. It was on that hill up there, there is this tower, it was evening. I felt it everywhere.”
Julien’s smallest shows this scene: The Glastonbury tower in the evening at sunset. I covered everything in a bright pink tone and a transparent shiny varnish, even the green hills – you cannot see it unless you let yourself sink in.
