62 Sisterhood

Rebecca was with her sister when we met. “I believe in sisterhood”, she said. “Like… it does not need to be an actual relative in that sense, although I also strongly believe in this”, she smiled at her sister.

“It can be the relationship with women in general that I appreciate so much. For me, sisterhood means trust, warmth, and mutual support. The willingness to change things, also in a feminist and activist sense. I can always rely on my sisters.”

Rebecca’s smallest symbolises the trusting feminine connection with its power to build warmth and support. I wrapped it into a silver aluminium foil which is golden inside. It is a true gift to have sisters in your life! But besides serving as a gift wrap, the aluminium foil reminds me of a survival blanket. Also, the aluminium foil is light but strong, and when you open it up . . .

. . . you find a world of warmth, sweetness and connection: The silver lines we see interlace, connect with a golden coating and transform obstacles into silver bullets made of chocolate (actually!). The red garland is a sign of celebration and female connection overcoming every hurdle.
