67 Fateful Encounters

ree

“I believe in fateful encounters”, Christian said. “There is fate in every interpersonal relationship. There is always a reason why your ways are crossing, why you meet someone.”

I asked him whether those fateful encounters were always leading to something positive. “They do not need to be positive in the moment they happen. In principle, it does not matter whether they feel positive or negative because you always learn something from them. In that way, you could consider them positive. In case the encounter was perceived as negative, you learn how not to fall into the same pattern the next time.”

He continued: “I actually tried to depict this visually for myself by drawing it. And it took the shape of some sort of spiderweb where every crossing of the lines, every knot, symbolises such encounter, and every crossing has a meaning, contributing to the overall complex shape of the web.

Those encounters are not arbitrary, they all have their specific position in the overall web.”

Christian’s smallest visualises this web as a three-dimensional object. The frame of the smallest is held together by threads, lines crossing, fateful encounters of warm colours, symbolising the positive energy radiating from them. The frame itself is sprinkled with gold - not covered in a perfect manner, because such encounters cannot be planned. They are laid out somewhere in the frame of fate, and although they might seem arbitrary, every golden moment is already set.
